Two parts: get your site and email out of cPanel and your GoDaddy account, then set them up on Cloudy24 and point your domain. Or skip all of it and let our team move it free.
Before you start
Part 1 · GoDaddy
Steps follow GoDaddy's own help articles (linked), checked 27 Oct 2026. Menu names can change; the linked article is the up-to-date version.
In your GoDaddy account go to My Products → Web Hosting → Manage → Backups, pick a date and export the account, then download the .tar.gz when it's ready. Or in cPanel use Files → Backup Wizard → Full Backup and download the file from your home directory.
Skip this — we'll move it freeIn cPanel open phpMyAdmin, select the database, open the Export tab and export in SQL format. GoDaddy suggests SSH (mysqldump) for very large databases.
Skip this — we'll move it freeIf your email is Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy, GoDaddy support has to release it before you can move it, and you'll need new licences from Microsoft or another provider. To keep copies of your mail, export it to a .pst file in Outlook (File → Open & Export → Import/Export).
Skip this — we'll move it freeIn Domain Portfolio, select the domain, then Domain Settings → DNS → Nameservers → Change Nameservers. You'll enter Cloudy24's nameservers here once your site is ready. Changes can take up to 48 hours.
Skip this — we'll move it freeOnly if you want to move the domain registration too. In Domain Portfolio select the domain, choose Transfer to Another Registrar, work through the checklist (unlock, privacy off), then view the authorization code. Transfers aren't allowed within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer.
Skip this — we'll move it freeWhen your site and email run on Cloudy24, turn off auto-renew under Renewals & Billing → Manage Subscriptions. GoDaddy handles refund requests by phone or chat, and only within its refund windows.
Skip this — we'll move it freePart 2 · Cloudy24
Cloudy24's Linux hosting plans use cPanel, so these steps are the same whichever host you're leaving.
In your Cloudy24 cPanel, open File Manager and upload the backup archive into public_html, then extract it. Large sites can go up over FTP instead.
Skip this — we'll move it freeIn cPanel, use MySQL Database Wizard to create a database and user, then open phpMyAdmin and import the .sql file you exported. Update your site's config file (for WordPress, wp-config.php) with the new database name, user and password.
Skip this — we'll move it freeIn cPanel → Email Accounts, create the same addresses. If you exported mailboxes, import them with your mail app, or ask us to copy them over.
Skip this — we'll move it freeChange the domain's nameservers at your registrar to Cloudy24's (our support team will confirm them for your account). DNS changes can take up to 24–48 hours to reach everyone; your old site keeps serving visitors until they do.
Skip this — we'll move it freeRather not do it yourself? We move your site free.
Files, databases, email and DNS, usually within 2–4 hours, with your old site live until the new one checks out.
FAQ
It shouldn't. Your site keeps running on GoDaddy while you copy it to Cloudy24, and visitors only reach the new copy once your nameservers switch over. Keep the GoDaddy plan active until everything works on Cloudy24.
